Job Description:
Casual employees must be available to work three shifts/month based on clinic need in order to be employed in a casual position.
As a Provider Assistant you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care. You will support clinicians and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Responsibilities:
Interview patients and document basic medical history
Take vital signs and document findings in the patient record
Review annual wellness questionnaire with appropriate patients
Administer immunizations
Monitor messages and relay clinician responses via phone calls
Enter orders for laboratory services
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with or without certification (AAMA or AMT) OR
Current LPN (MN and WI license required) OR
Graduate of an accredited EMT program plus current EMT license (national and Minnesota)
PLUS current CPR certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications:
One year medial assistant or LPN experience in a clinic.
All candidates should have excellent verbal and written skills; excellent customer services skills; tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions with patients, families, and care team members; An ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in all interactions; Understanding of patient education needs, able to effectively share information with patient, family members and care team members as needed; Ability to learn, retain information regarding patient care procedures; Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks; Ability to remain calm in stressful situation; Experience with EPIC preferred.
