Apple’s SAR Engineering team is looking for an engineer to work on RF Exposure (SAR/MPE) characterization across different wireless technologies for Apple’s wireless products.

Description

- Validating RF Exposure test cases for different regulatory domains in certification test setups. - Translating WW regulatory requirements into test cases. Coordinating with regulatory compliance teams to ensure product validation covers all certification tests. - Define/execute validation plan for RF Exposure facing SW features. - Debugging marginal/failure tests with cross-functional teams like RFHW /Antenna/ Product Design/EE/etc. and drive design changes to address issues. - Maintain test setups via periodic checks, calibration, etc. - Help Regulatory Compliance teams in planning/executing on final certification testing at 3rd party test labs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in technical discipline with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Working Experience with different wireless communication systems such as GSM/UMTS/LTE, 802.11xx, Bluetooth etc. including the corresponding system level specifications (e.g., ETSI 51.010, 51.05…) is important.
  • Working Experience with regulatory requirements and certification process for wireless consumer devices, including FCC, PTCRB, CTIA, ETSI, 3GPP etc.
  • Excellent communication skills required, both written & verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in technical discipline with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Working experience of antenna design and tests, in particular hands-on experience for compliance measurements is desirable.
  • Experience with 5GmmWave standard and/or hands-on chamber/system level understanding is a plus.
  • Experience with Antenna/EM simulation tools is a plus.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
