Compass is Alexandria Community Education’s school-age care program, providing before- and after-school, non-school day and summer care for students PreK-5th Grade. The program is located in all elementary schools and the Early Education Center.
Preferred Skills:
Qualifications:

Must have previous experience working with PreK-5th Grade students.
Previous leadership experience
Be a self starter and perform job with little supervision.
Must be able to handle any questions that arise with students, colleagues and/or parents
Minimum 18 years old
Preferred post secondary education

Hours: Monday-Friday 2:00pm-5:30pm/2-3 days per week
 
Job Description:
Essential Functions:

Provide participants and Compass team with the appropriate leadership
Support planning activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine.
Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for participants and colleagues.
Maintain a safe environment for participants.
Attend staff meetings.
Communicate with parents through daily drop off and pick up and/or during parent meetings
Provide behavior support for students
Apply their unique skillset to assist with the development and implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans.
Help students develop social skills and eliminate or reduce negative or disruptive behaviors
