Full-Time - 40 Hours Per Week - Benefit Eligible

Non-Exempt - Family Services Local 320 Union Position

2024 starting salary is $23.92 - $25.50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

General Definition of Work

Performs work identifying late fees for collection, collecting outstanding fees due to Family Services, gathering information for assessment of fee amounts, processing collections, completing required reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. 

Work is performed under the general direction of the Fiscal Supervisor.

Essential Functions

Identifies debts owed to Family Services.
Determines an appropriate course of action for collection of outstanding debts owed.
Collects, processes, and reports collections.
Prepares cases for County Attorney's office and assists with the court process.
Completes, processes, and maintains case documentation.
Performs an ongoing review of legal statutes and other resources to stay up-to-date in program and policy changes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and moderate experience working within the health and human services field, assisting with collections, assisting with legal processes, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.

Physical Requirements and Activity

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms and pushing or pulling.

Sensory Requirements

Work requires ability to adjust focus; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.

Sensory Utilization

Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and operating motor vehicles or equipment.

Work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a quiet location (e.g. library, private offices).

The application will be evaluated in a Training and Experience Assessment worth 100 points.  Veterans Preference will be applied in accordance with Minnesota law.  A score of 80 or better is necessary to continue in the process.  A top group of qualified applicants will be invited to the interview process.

Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a background investigation including a criminal history search.  Costs of the background will be paid for by Isanti County.
