Job Description:
Lead User Experience (UX) Product Designer at Ecolab work on dynamic, highly collaborative, cross-functional teams, driving design and user research practices and activities throughout the development of digital products and services. Our products and services are created to support business needs for customers, field personnel, and internal and external users. Ecolab's digital product teams utilize lean/agile and user-centered processes to drive innovation and iteration through frequent product releases.
What You Will Do
Working in collaboration with other UX Product Designers, technical teams, and other colleagues to:
Be part of a dynamic and growing UX practice that creates digital experiences designed to streamline and enhance our customer and field interactions
Develop and articulate UX best practices and product design vision to teams, stakeholders, and external partners
Be an integral member and leader for the design of our digital products and services, from initial research, ideation, conceptualization, and design, to testing and validation
Plan and conduct primary and secondary research. Synthesize research, build insights, reframe problems, and provide recommendations that enable our teams to generate and iterate on new solutions
Apply Human-Centered Design and Service Design Thinking approaches to guide the discovery and production of low-fidelity and high-fidelity deliverables.
Plan and co-facilitate workshops internally and externally. Manage approaches that identify and solve complex problems.
Create project deliverables such as low and high-fidelity UI prototypes, design using a Design System, discussion guides for research, insights reports, and presentations, among other materials relevant to the client challenge.
Communicate with business stakeholders during Service Design, training, and knowledge transfer.
Influence product teams through data-based recommendations.
Work with colleagues in other design functions within the company, to enable communication and compliance with corporate and brand design guidelines
Act as an advocate for the design role, encouraging adoption of user-centered design and design thinking methodologies with internal teams and stakeholders
Maintain and continuously advance your own, and your team's knowledge of current innovation and topics of interest in sustainability, manufacturing, e-commerce, and other relevant topics
Lead and mentor Junior and Mid-Level UX Product Designers in UX, Design, and Research best practices, tools, and tactics
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in a relevant field and 8 years of professional experience or no degree with 12 years of professional experience.
An online portfolio that showcases user-centered design processes and fundamental research practices
Experience working on many facets of digital product design lifecycle translating complex user needs, technical constraints, and business goals into thoughtful, effective digital experiences
Experience in designing consumer and business applications, both from the ground up as well as improving upon existing products
Experience in user researchand competitive analysis, and how to synthesize and interpret research data and qualitative feedback
Experience with planning and facilitating design activities/collaborative workshops
Possess experience in all phases of the design process-from concept generation through final, detailed design

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and frameworks
Experience acting as an advocate, strategist, and leader for the design function, both within teams and with stakeholders while possessing deep understanding of the Service Design and UX Design disciplines.
Proven experience and knowledge in implementation and facilitation of the overall design process, using a variety of methodologies like Process Mapping, User Journey Mapping, User Story Mapping, Wireframing, UI prototyping, User Testing, etc.
Experience with industry-standard design and research tools (Figma, Adobe CC, InVision, User Testing, etc...)
Experience working with pattern libraries and design systems
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity and juggling multiple priorities
Familiarity with Agile and SAFe methodologies.
Experience in Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence.
Experience in user research and user testing activities
Familiarity with advocating a User Centric Design
Experience in designing responsive digital products, with a strong focus on mobile, both native and hybrid.
