Description of Work Unit | Located in the beautiful town of Fort Collins, Colorado, CSU is a premier land-grant university with world-class programs in education, outreach, and research. The Strategic Philanthropy team serves as university-wide ambassadors who develop relationships and connect alumni, donors, parents and friends with Colorado State University. |
Position Summary | This position will be primarily responsible for qualifying university-wide major gift prospects and connecting them with their specific areas of interest across the university. The position will be based in Fort Collins and will include frequent travel to the Denver- area (approximately 50%), as well as occasional national travel (as needed). This position reports to the Director of Development of Strategic Philanthropy. The Assistant Director will focus on donor qualification, as well as cultivation and solicitation of first-time, leadership ($1,000+) and major ($25,000+) gifts. In collaboration with the Director of Development of Strategic Philanthropy, this position is responsible for creating and managing a strategy for a continuous pipeline of donors, including but not limited to initial outreach (i.e. cold calling), identifying appropriate engagement opportunities, and collaborating with other units to ensure effective donor transitions. The ideal candidate will be a consummate professional and will thrive in a fast-paced, metrics/results-driven fundraising environment. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to maintain focus and employ adaptability while working collaboratively with donors, prospective donors, alumni, colleagues, faculty, staff, and students. This successful candidate will infuse diversity, and inclusion into all aspects of their role to contribute to inclusive excellence and to ensure colleagues and donors of all backgrounds feel represented and included. |
