Responsibilities:
- Under the direction and supervision of the primary Physical Therapist, provides rehabilitative and restorative therapy, modalities, techniques and education to all patients in all of the departments of the hospital and affiliated satellites as instructed by the primary therapist following an initial therapy evaluation.
- Ensures that each service and technique conform to regulatory, hospital and department policy as well as Commonwealth of Massachusetts law and APTA standards.
- Provides ongoing treatment as outlined in the initial plan by the evaluating Physical Therapist.
- Consults with the primary therapist regarding any significant changes in the status of the patient during the course of treatment.
- Provides timely and appropriate documentation in the patient chart.
- Schedules all re-assessments with a Physical Therapist on a routine basis and at a minimum, one time every 30 of continued treatment.
- Responsible for the supervision of PTA students, Athletic Trainers and aides in the department in which the therapy assistant is functioning.
- Performs services in a location in which competency with the patient population has been demonstrated, and at the discretion of the Department Director
- Presents a professional image and independently assume responsibility for professional growth and development and that of promoting the goals and mission of the department and Anna Jaques Hospital.
- Communicates appropriately with all staff, hospital employees, patients, family members and physicians.

Minimum Education
Minimum of an Associates Degree from an accredited college or university.

- Physical Therapy Assistant [Massachusetts, United States]
- Massachusetts licensure
- Maintains BCLS.
