A day in the life of an Industrial Hygienist provides Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene (OS&IH) support and services to CPCCo OS&IH Program including, but not limited to:
* Review and implement Program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations and orders from regulating entities.
* Advise, consult, guide and assist individuals and organizations in OS&IH matters.
* Maintain proficiency, training qualifications and medical clearances necessary to perform OS&IH duties and access Project areas.
* Anticipate and identify physical, chemical and biological hazards and prescribing protective measures using the hierarchy of controls.
* Actively participating in work planning for direct and contracted work to provide OS&IH subject matter expertise for work packages, technical procedures, work instructions and statements of work.
* Obtain, maintain and apply the necessary skills and knowledge of OS&IH aspects as assigned to diverse work activities such as operations, construction, maintenance, modification, fabrication, environmental restoration and deactivation and decommissioning.
* Qualify as an OSHA Competent Person as assigned and act in that capacity to provide necessary services to the Projects.
* Conduct OS&IH field assessments, inspections and walk downs to evaluate conditions and ensure compliance.
* Develop and maintain records, reports and documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements.
* Support Employee Zero Accident Council (EZAC) and Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) initiatives and efforts by fostering safety awareness and assisting in completing related actions.
* Utilize the Integrated Contractor Assurance System and participating in critiques, incident investigations, and performing corrective actions.
* Provide OS&IH oversight to direct and subcontracted work activities as assigned.
* Develop and implement exposure assessment strategies. Develop sampling plans and conducting air, wipe and bulk sampling as necessary to assess potential exposures. As applicable, providing oversight and validation of sampling activities of industrial hygiene technicians or as a peer reviewer.
* Provide occupational safety services as assigned and qualified.
Basic Qualifications
* Senior Level Grade 20: BA/BS degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related scientific discipline or an
equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 10 years of relevant experience.
* Principal Level Grade 21: BA/BS degree in industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related scientific discipline or
an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 12 years of relevant experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Certified Industrial Hygienist and/or Certified Safety Professional.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
* Senior Level Grade 20: $126,025 - $158,875
* Principal Level Grade 21: $138,700 - $174,900
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
