Position Overview:The Product Manager's role encompasses the management of the product and, potentially, the technical facets of supplier relations. This entails cultivating strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with suppliers, conducting thorough market and product evaluations, exploring avenues for expansion, and identifying opportunities for new and existing suppliers, all while advancing DigiKey's growth strategy for their designated product lines. Strive and achieve positive momentum as an outside the box thinker. Serving as the key point of contact for your suppliers to drive business results. The Product Manager ensures effective coordination with all assigned suppliers and internal teams.

This is not exclusively an essential onsite role, however, does require onsite attendance
Responsibilities:

Build effective relationships with suppliers globally driving the partnership value

Gain extensive product knowledge of assigned suppliers and global markets

Assist in the development and execution of supplier business plan, monitoring said plans to drive to proposed results

Lead, run and execute supplier meetings: meeting agenda/summary reports/presentation in conjunction with supplier visits; responsible for action item follow-up

Know , understand and drive activities towards meeting area KPIs|OKRs (e.g. market share, SKU count|new line items, new suppliers, NPI packets, etc.); be able to align & articulate how your actions|recommendations as PM impact those metrics (within your scope of responsibility)

Review/Maintain/Update Product Manager Check List

Review and monitor sales trends for product line additions|deletions

Stay aware of external changes to the business market as well as competitors and supplier public business announcements (e.g. Quarterly Financial Statements|Investor Calls, Mergers & Acquisitions) and to understand the impact to your supplier|product strategy; recommending and executing actions as appropriate

Offer advanced technical support to customers or internal departments (and/or coordinate supplier resources) as needed|requested

Ensure NPIsuccess is best in class for assigned suppliers (e.g. speed to market, take rate, etc.)

Regularly hold SKU breadth review for both global and regional products

Assist suppliers in the development of relevant content; responsible for maintaining the supplier landing page and all product pages within technology

Attend supplier training and seminars when needed; providing trip report and executing to action items upon return

Modify Product Class Code for assigned suppliers|technology category as needed; partner with Product Specialist and Product Data Management team on execution & maintenance

Train Technical Support personnel with information from supplier trainings or factory visits

Collaborate with Marketing teams to determine potential promotional activity

Partner with Asset team in determination for certain inventory initiatives and resolution of escalated technical issues

Resolve escalated supplier & product data issues and support Product Data Management team in supplier & product data initiatives

Partner with Operational Excellence on quality issues/SCARS/FA's; partnering with Product Specialist if applicable

Actively identify opportunities for continued learning (e.g. skills, knowledge, etc); regularly create and take advantage of learning opportunities
Other Typical Tasks May Include:

Review of potential new and existing supplier contracts

Take on additional responsibilities from Sr. Product Manager

Participate on cross-functional working teams or tasks forces

Test system updates and applications

Participate in the creation of training & documentation of processes as well as the facilitation of training

Travel - internationally and|or domestically - as needed

Research suppliers and technologies not currently included on line card for possible addition
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Associates degree in Electronics Technology, Business Management or a similar field or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may also be accepted.

Typically 2+ years of business relationship experience

Strong understanding of the various functions of a distribution channel and|or company

Working effectively with cross-functional teams

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrate the following behavioral competencies: Analytical Capacity, Problem Solving, Thoroughness, Time Management, Communication Proficiency, Project Management
Tools|Systems|Software

Microsoft Suite (Including but not limited to Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

MicroStrategy (preferred)
