JOB REQUIREMENTS: You would generally be working on residential
hardscapes, driving to sites in company vehicles. The work is physically
demanding and completed in all weather conditions including, but not
limited to, rain, sleet, and snow. You must be able to repeatedly lift
50lbs often in adverse conditions. As an experienced Landscape Foreman,
you will be responsible for the supervision of contracted work ensuring
that operations are completed in accordance with the specification,
drawings, budget, and contract. The overall nature of the work can be
summarized as follows: Hard Landscape - Which will involve minor
demolition works, constructing stone or block walls, outdoor kitchens,
pavers, stone paths, and water features. Soft Landscape - This will
involve the cultivation and preparation of the ground for seeding or
planting; taking delivery and planting of trees, shrubs, and ground
cover plants; mulching planted areas with bark, mushroom compost peat,
or similar materials; undertaking sod and seeding works. The contracts
that we undertake are varied and the industry is seasonal by nature and
so you may on occasions be required to undertake soft landscape
operations. During Snow & Ice Operations Foreman 1 is a member of the
plow crew for winter operations, which may include various types of
vehicles and equipment. Standard Landscape season runs April 1st
-November 30th. This is construction work and due to weather and
scheduling, the foreman may require you to work into the evening on rare
occasions. Saturday work is extremely rare, and is unlikely to exceed
two Saturdays within the construction season. All employees are required
to be available 7 days a week at all hours throughout the winter season.
KEY TASKS Direct activities on the job site, include but are not limited
to: coordinating work flow, hands-on work, and operating a variety of
machinery. Manage personnel effectively and efficiently. Communicating
production goals (and other items) with crew members, supervisors, and
clients. Train and promote the development of subordinates in the best
practices of installation and company standards. Monitor all tools,
equipment, and machinery for needed maintenance. Track and record all
job expenses, including but not exclusively materials and hours worked.
Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times. Summer Train the new
team members and set their pace. Manage the entirety of a landscape job
from start to finish in the field. Winter Run varying types of equipment
and trucks depending on the Event. Directly assist Foreman 2 in the
completion of a Code Blue Event. Foreman 1 is typically running smaller
pickup salters. Lead the fight in the cleaning and greasing of all
equipment as soon as weather allows after an event. Operate skids/trucks
for next-day parking stall cleanup. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant will have a minimum of four
years\' experience working in a similar capacity on a high-end landscape
crew including decorative water feature installations and lighting. A
valid driver\'s license and clean driving record are required.
