Primary Responsibilities
Perform journeyman level work in the installation, maintenance, modification, overhaul, service and repair of all types of heating, ventilating and air conditioning and related systems and equipment. Install, maintain, adjust, modify and perform major overhaul and repair of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems by interpreting blueprints, manufacturer specifications, written and verbal instructions. Make initial settings and final adjustments of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems and modifying existing installations to obtain required results. Install, troubleshoot, repair or calibrate, and maintain air handling and all related equipment dealing with heating and cooling. Check and adjust complete HVAC systems after installation. Thorough working knowledge of high and low pressure boilers. Charge all types of refrigeration equipment. Follow a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance; make recommendations regarding major overhaul of systems. Provide technical guidance and direction to other maintenance personnel. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein including coverage for Boiler Tender.

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Flexible Schedule)
7:00 am – 3:30 pm (Flexible Schedule)

Days off: Saturday & Sunday (Flexible Schedule)

Location: Campus, and as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma (or equivalent) required. A.S. in HVAC Technology or related field preferred. Five (5) years’ experience at journeyman trade level. Requires operation of equipment related to the trade. Requires bending, heavy lifting, climbing ladders and stairs. Ability and willingness to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Ability to verbalize or write reports/forms necessary to the job. Ability to utilize a work order system to perform job functions. Must be able to meet University requirements to be authorized to drive University vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
EPA Certification
Operation of high- and low-pressure boilers.
Salary $18.26 - $26.56/hr. Level E SEIU The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
