Job Description
The Production Manager leads and manages the Production department with a focus on the exceptional delivery of all programs, events, and meetings. The Production Manager ensures excellent guest and presenter experience and internal customer satisfaction, while meeting Kripalu business criteria. Ideal candidates will have a flexible schedule with availability on weekends, evenings and holidays.
Accountabilities
Manage the execution of all programs, events, and meetings. Strategize and lead effective program production and provide superior service and professionalism for presenters and guests.
Lead, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and develop staff in the Production Department (Production Support Set Up Crew and Audio-Visual Staff)
Continually evaluate Production staff and processes, improving and evolving procedures to meet the needs of Kripalu, Presenters and Guests.
Partner with the Operational area leaders to maintain effective communication systems in the execution of all programs and events, including management of the BEO process within Production.
Strategize with the Director of Program Operations for room assignments to balance space needs and preferences with optimal support flow.
Attend weekly BEO meetings, communicating with all Programming and Operational departments regarding the implementation of the previous week's programs and events, highlighting successes, challenges, procedural changes and recommendations.
Prepare and manage annual Production department budget and specific capital or other project budgets for equipment and program room enhancement.
Manage the Department Inventory; oversee purchasing, maintenance, and replacement of all program room supplies and equipment, including A/V equipment, forecasting supply and equipment needs for upcoming programs.
Work with Director of Program Operations to strategize the future vision of Kripalu Production, ensuring that the department is well aligned with Kripalu's mission and initiatives and meets industry standards.
Serve as part of Kripalu's Leadership Team.
Special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills and Experience
Must exhibit strong and positive leadership skills including the ability to work independently, to delegate, to train and lead others
Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail, understanding of mission-driven programming needs, and leadership.
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail; Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks efficiently
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Familiarity with hospitality property management systems and plus; must be adaptable to learn new software and technologies
Must have a driver's license and pass a background check
Willingness to work evenings and weekends is essential, as is the flexibility to adjust schedule according to the needs of the events.
Minimal Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Minimum of three years' experience as a manager or high-level supervisor
