GENERAL SUMMARY

The IBU Project Sales Engineer provides advanced product technical support, training, engineered product pricing, and valve application recommendations for other Applications Engineers, sales channels, and customers. This position requires a thorough understanding of DeZURIK business system, products, sales channel, vendors, and order entry process leading to increasingly responsible tasks within the Sales department. This position will be responsible for in-depth project cost analysis and executing project bidding tactics as assigned by the Sales Director. This individual will be required to demonstrate leadership with a forward-thinking approach and commitment to building a world-class service-oriented sales department.



This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK’s hybrid work schedule.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Review technical and commercial specifications and contact sales representatives to coordinate current bidding activity with the Director of Sales, Sales Managers, and VP of Sales as required.
Provide technical support to Representatives, Regional/Industry Managers, and customers. This requires answering questions regarding the performance, function, limitations, features, and installation of the products and accessories.
Determine or estimate costs to prepare quotations for all non-standard accessories, testing requirements, material selections, and documentation as required by rep/customer’s request for quotation or application requirements.
Review technical specifications for project business and decipher requirements to Sales channel to prepare quotation.
Provide application, system and technical training for DeZURIK, Inc. personnel, sales representatives and customers.
Ability to interface well with representative sales force, customers, suppliers, DeZURIK, Inc.’s engineering departments, and other inside and outside contacts.
Develop technical knowledge of competitive product lines.
Review incoming orders, provide clarification prior to order entry and ensure a complete, comprehensive flowdown of technical and commercial requirements to all areas.
Provide/create financial analysis for project bidding, which often requires estimating decisions and in-depth standard cost analysis from BOM research.
Assist in project bidding as required per below:
Establish a clear understanding of DeZURIK’s Industrial Sales strategy and competitors’ product line offerings for project bid positioning.
Make decisions to approve, revise, or decline orders and discuss price levels with sales reps as required with guidance from Sales Managers based on profit analysis and market pricing.
Discuss and authorize pricing tactics with sales representatives as directed by Sales Manager.
Finalize bid documents by executing bonds, warranties, and other commercial requirements.
Provide procedural and tactical training for sales representatives and industrial sales team regarding bid processes.
Assist in negotiating final project pricing with sales representatives and customers as assigned by the Director of Sales.
Provide management support for the achievement of bookings goals by maintaining records of project activity and follow-up to ensure that monthly bookings are achieved.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
Two years of engineering experience.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITLIES
Demonstrated self-motivation, commitment to the task, problem-solving, and customer orientation required.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail - commercial & technical.
Ability to understand relevant industry standards and specifications.
Computer literacy for preparing spreadsheets.
Presentation skills (PowerPoint, etc.).



PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, and extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
Occasional travel to customer locations where safety considerations must be met.



WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.
