Amentum is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team and support our Washington, DC customer. We are looking for team members who are passionate about making a difference by working on critical efforts we manage as a premier government contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs forensic and data analysis of digital information, ensuring compliance with federal mandates while keeping all stakeholders informed through the use of thorough tracking and documentation

  • Monitor systems and networks for intrusions and proactively identify security flaws and vulnerabilities, and then develop plans of action to remediate security issues

  • May use programming skills to help reverse engineer malicious code and help create fixes

  • Perform security audits, risk analysis, network forensics and penetration testing in order to analyze, develop, and recommend courses of action

  • Responsible for the full lifecycle of security incidents involving enterprise systems and data, including personally identifiable information (PII) breaches

  • Perform cyber defense incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact, identifying the specific vulnerability, and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation

  • Identifies, monitors, and adheres to security policies for networks, systems, and applications collecting computer intrusion evidence, and coordinates with other government agencies to record and report incidents

  • Conduct cyber trend analysis, malware analysis, and analyze anomalies in network traffic using metadata

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD degree in a cybersecurity related field, and at least 2 years of cybersecurity analysis experience

    • Or a Master’s degree in a cybersecurity related field, and at least 4 years of cybersecurity analysis experience

    • Or a Bachelor's degree in a cybersecurity related field, and at least 6 years of cybersecurity analysis experience

    • Or an Associates degree in a cybersecurity related field, and at least 8 years of cybersecurity analysis experience

    • Or a High school diploma/GED, at least 10 years of cybersecurity analysis experience

  • Possess one of the following certifications:

    • DoD 8570 IAT II certification (which includes either a Security+, CCNA-Security, CySa+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, and/or SSCP certification)

    • DoD 8570 IAM II certification (which includes either a CAP, CASP+CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, and/or HCISPP certification)

  • Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility, and the ability to obtain a polygraph prior to your start. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) environment
