UW Medical Center-Northwest - Supply Chain Management has outstanding opportunity for a Materials Handling Aide 3 to join us in our new Center for Behavioral Health and Learning building.

WORK SCHEDULE
  • Full-time, 100% FTE
  • Night Shift, 10:00 pm - 6:30 am
  • Wednesdays - Sundays

    The anticipated start date for this position is June 2024. The Center for Behavioral Health and Learning will open to patients in spring 2024.

    Proficient in their assigned tasks and trains other staff members on correct inventory procedures, assembly tasks, computer processes, cleaning procedures and proper paperwork handling

    ABOUT THE CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND LEARNING
    The new UW Medicine Center for Behavioral Health and Learning, opening on the UW Medical Center – Northwest campus in 2024, offers an unparalleled opportunity to transform mental health care and to improve mental health care training in our state. Located in North Seattle, the new facility will feature 70 longer-term adult psychiatry beds, 30 geriatric psychiatry beds, 50 medical/surgical beds focused on patients with psychiatric comorbidities, and a state-of-the-art neuromodulation program. It will also house an interdisciplinary training and workforce development program focused on preparing and supporting the next generation of behavioral health providers for Washington State. The six-story building will be a beautiful place to work with lots of windows, natural lighting and open-concept spaces and will offer amenities including a new kitchen and dining area for patients, staff and visitors.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inventories and refills lockers containing medical and administrative supplies
  • Assists department staff with identification of supply needs and available alternatives
  • Communicates low stock items and inventory discrepancies to Inventory Control Coordinator, Purchasing Representative and end user
  • Prepares processed freight for internal delivery.
  • Prints delivery tickets and labels, attaches to supplies before actual delivery
  • May be required to drive an automobile (or other vehicle) as a function of job.  If so required, completes all NWH driver clearance procedures and paperwork. 

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year experience as a Materials Handling Aide II and demonstrated proficiency in the position; or two years experience in a similar position with a good employer recommendation.
  • Maintains a valid Washington Drivers License and an excellent driving record.
