POSITION: Resource Family Specialist (I, II, III, IV)
DUTIES:
This is a specialized position that works with kinship and foster families.
The caseworker collaboratively provides support and case management to kinship
and foster families with open child welfare cases. Position educates providers
in the Family-to-Family philosophy, needs of children who have experienced
abuse or neglect, unique challenges of kinship and foster care, and State
and Department regulations. This position recruits foster and foster-adoptive
homes, walks all families through the certification process,
provides supervision of the home, and completes adoption home studies;
working in conjunction with other caseworkers to fulfill permanency goals and
expectations.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Level I - Bachelor's degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences
field. Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter
hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family
intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques.
Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology,
sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.
