Snelling is hiring a
PUMP MECHANIC for an engineering company in the Irondale, AL area! As a pump mechanic, you’ll be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, evaluation, and repair of pumps and rotating equipment. You’ll also be responsible for troubleshooting issues and diagnosing failures.
1st shift schedule with overtime as needed.
Starting Pay for Pump Mechanic: $20.00-$35.00/hr
, depending on experience
Pump Mechanic Responsibilities:- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of pumps used in industrial applications
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and manuals to determine work procedures
- Dismantle pumps and inspect components for wear or damage using precision measuring instruments
- Repair or replace worn or damaged parts such as seals, bearings, gears, and other pump components
- Reassemble pumps following repairs and conduct tests to ensure proper functioning
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
- Assist in the field installation of pumps
- Respond to emergency calls to repair pumps that have failed unexpectedly
- Work with vendors to order replacement parts and pump components
Pump Mechanic Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience as a mechanic required. Experience with pumps is a huge plus!
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is a must!
- Industrial Maintenance Experience
