Job Description

 
*Assist Controller with monthly, quarterly and yearly close. *Complete monthly bank reconciliations. *Maintain work in process accounting (WIP). *Work with accounts payable department to ensure invoices are paid and discounts taken in a timely manner. *Work with accounts receivable department to ensure invoices are collected promptly. *Manage all calculations for insurance renewals and audits. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation is necessary. *Advanced excel skills required. *Minimum 3 years direct knowledge of construction industry practices, NYS and federal government reporting law *Strong knowledge in various accounting software * Analytic by nature, able to understand financial results through comparative analysis of financial and non-financial data. *Strong organizational skills. *Interpersonal skills are important, as interaction with a wide variety of people in person, over the phone or via email is essential *Ability to complete tasks within a deadline. *Ability to multi-task, is well-organized and able to manage priorities and workflow *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Commitment to excellence and high standards and an acute attention to detail *Ability to work independently and as a team member
