KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Director, Editor in Chief to join our Advisory Insights organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead concept ideation and contribute to the creation content strategy (in collaboration with senior leaders) to ensure thought leadership (TL) is properly aligned with KPMG priorities and resonates with key decision-makers.
- Own the quality standards for thought leadership within our team and drive quality improvements continuously in research, writing, and design to ensure that TL is rigorous, provocative, timely, and memorable.
- Pursue innovations in TL content formats, delivery, and more.
- Implement best practices for TL used by other top professional services companies.
- Lead a great team of top editors and project managers closely to ensure consistent quality, focus, and on-time performance.
- Work directly as lead editor on select high-priority projects, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum ten years of recent experience in writing, editing, content production and thought leadership; prefer background in business journalism; experience in research design also a plus.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; advanced degree preferred.
- Deep editorial experience in senior leadership roles such as editor-in-chief or editorial director
- Extensive knowledge of business/strategy topics; intimately familiar with client/audience business issues and challenges both at a macro/functional level and within industries
- Entrepreneurial problem-solving: has established/managed overall editorial and production processes, launched new products, repositioned publications; flexible self-starter including ability to identify opportunities/challenges and initiate appropriate action.
- Strong collaborator/team player/listener, who encourages full participation and growth of all team members; nurturing leader/talent developer/team builder; has recruited, onboarded, and advanced the careers of talent; able to build relationships with all team members.
