Job Description


The Tool Install Estimator/Quantity Surveyor will support and develop detailed cost estimates as a part of the Tool Install Estimating Team by evaluating market trends, analyzing and organizing large quantities of construction data and evaluating construction bid and pricing including but not limited to Creating dashboards that enable business teams to efficiently understand data trends and identify cost opportunities, analyzing data to uncover patterns and insights, developing creative way to model and share data in meaningful and structured ways, collaborating with the broader construction organization to support data driven decisions. In addition, the Tool Install Estimator/Quantity Surveyor will support the development, proliferation, and implementation of cost savings initiatives by creating models and cost targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Calculates the costs of a construction project before work commences, covering elements like materials, labor, equipment hire and transport costs, etc.
  • Develops estimating standards, benchmarks parametric models, defines models, assemblies and other techniques and documents that provide the basis for defining Intel's best in class estimating.
  • Develops and prepares conceptual estimates using limited preliminary design documents/information by identifying and quantifying all cost factors involved in the project.
  • Collaborates with engineers, contractors, and architects to define scope, delivery, and/or layout alternatives that lead and influence attainment of competitive, market driven project costs, and value engineering scenarios.
  • Analyzes specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of material, and subcontractor quotations, and assists with contractor negotiations.

  • Detailed oriented with the ability to focus on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. 
  • Advance level of Excel is required.

Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Construction Management or Engineering and 3+ years of experience. 
  • 2+ years construction estimating experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industry standard estimating / QS practices and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of other data visualization software such as SQL, PowerBI, Python, etc.
  • Familiarity with standard construction supply chain and procurement practices such as RFP, RFC, supplier negotiations, scheduling, etc.

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
