Under broad supervision of the Assistant Director (AD), the Leasing Specialist 2 (LS2) is responsible for the management of assigned activities related to a portfolio of approximately 1,200 commercial leases, along with ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency of utilization and acquisition of leased premises by the State. Portfolio consists of both large and small transactions (under 1,000 to over 100,000 square feet), along with oversight of outside contractors. The incumbent also performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Manage/coordinate components of projects from lease execution to tenant move in  Act as lead liaison with various agency customers to understand and achieve the customer’s goals in acquiring new premises, disposing of existing leases, and formulating strategies to optimize its footprint around the state  Draft and manage Request for Proposals (RFP) for leased space, including solicitation, review, selection, negotiation, and project management on behalf of the State  Accurately prepare leases, subleases, letters of intent, assignment letters, and term sheets  Evaluate all responses or proposals received through formal or informal solicitation and make recommendations on assigned projects  Conduct negotiations with property representatives to obtain the most favorable terms and conditions on behalf of the State  Coordinate with project management and other associated functions to ensure each project is completed for successful occupancy  Problem solve with customers to ensure continued satisfaction by customers  Assist with the improvement of internal processes to simplify, accelerate, and increase efficiency and effectiveness of business practices  Assist in the development and review of statewide leasing and lease management policies by applying real estate knowledge and expertise, utilizing the best industry practices, current market trends and other considerations

Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university OR Two years of related experience.
