UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to work within our newly established 29-bed inpatient Oncology unit.

WORK SCHEDULE
  • 32 hours per week
  • Day shift

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans, develops, implements/collaborates on, and evaluates oncology-related educational offerings designed to enhance the delivery of quality and safety of care.
  • Serve as an oncology subject matter expert to a large and complex patient population.
  • In collaboration with other campuses, will develop evidence-based protocols, promotes clinical standards and practice improvements and evaluates outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the unit leadership, staff, and physicians to impact the quality of care for oncology patients through developing and implementing care standards, policies, guidelines, protocols, and benchmarking.
  • Serve as a resource to staff providing care to oncology patients.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • 3-5 years of Oncology related nursing experience
  • An active chemotherapy administration certification
  • An active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
  • Leadership, quality improvement or clinical education experience
  • An active oncology nursing certification preferred
  • Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred
