Accountabilities: 

  • Independently provide the scientific designs and solutions to support the research and development of API in different stages with high quality. Efficient project delivery including training, reporting and coordination within the project team. Efficient communication among the cross functional department to ensure the project delivery.
  • Independently designs and performs experiments to solve scientific challenges to ensure high-quality delivery of API related projects. 
  • Responsible for the individual activities in departmental project team and assumes specific responsibility for departmental operation commensurate with technical ability and experience.
  • Learn and introduce new equipment and techniques/technologies to enhance efficiency, productivity and scientific competence.
  • Effective communication and documentation of the projects within the project team in both verbal and written forms.
  • Comply with applicable regulations, and performs all work in a safe manner. Maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies. Demonstrate corporate and CoC culture (AAI, innovation, CoC branding ...)
  • Trains, supervises and develops junior scientists  

 

Required Capabilities

  • PhD in organic chemistry (or MSc with 5+ years or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years) pharmaceutical or relevant experience.Demonstrated successful independent synthetic organic chemistry laboratory experience and the understanding of operation fundamentals required for process scale up and chemical manufacturing
  • Ability to independently design and optimize target synthetic route suitable for manufacturing, and ability to evaluate and interpret data  
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced training in the areas of technical expertise and scale up operation
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, provide training and guidance to laboratory personnel and act as a leader in absence of the supervisor 
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, patents, publications and oral presentations  
  • Understanding of cGMP and safety regulations 
  • Experience of pilot plant&manufacturing, familiar with equipment
  • Experience of trouble shooting, OOS investigation is preferred
