JOB REQUIREMENTS: Looking for a meaningful career opportunity? Waushara
County is currently accepting applications for a Deputy Clerk of Court.
This position is a clerical/legal position under the supervision of the
Clerk of Courts. Performs a variety of complex legal and clerical duties
as described in the Wisconsin Statutes in accordance with State Laws and
County regulations. Appointed by the Clerk of Court and approved by the
judge per Wis. Stats. 59.35(1). An oath of office is taken and filed
every four years. Wage is \$20.85-\$22.12/hr. (starting wage based on
relevant experience) with benefits. Requires Associate degree in
secretarial science, legal secretary or administrative assistant. One to
three years experience in the legal field, knowledge of legal
terminology and understanding of court procedures, computer word
processing experience, clerical and accounting skills. Online

Reasonable accommodations under ADA. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Work
with the public and numerous agencies. 2. Setup, maintain and close
court files. 3. Daily court work of clerking and filing. 4. Data entry
of court documents on CCAP and other systems. 5. Files, records,
prepares and distributes correspondence and legal documents pursuant to
established standards and procedures as assigned. 6. Communicate with
customers of the clerk\'s office by answering the phone, assisting
people at the counter, responding to requests and distributing forms. 7.
Certifies case documents. 8. Performs searches of case information for
customers. 9. Properly enters and maintains electronic court records on
the Circuit Court Automation Program (CCAP) according to established
procedures and standards. 10. Clerks and logs minutes of court hearings
as assigned by supervisor. 11. Properly collects and receipts fines,
costs, assessments, forfeitures and other appropriate fees. 12. Prepares
daily court calendars from CCAP. Ensures files are complete and ready
for court as assigned. 13. Goes to the Post Office and properly process
outgoing and incoming mail as assigned. 14. Maintains jury records,
questionnaires, summonses, correspondence and juror payments as
assigned. 15. Calendars and gives notice to parties regarding matters
for the court. 16. Serves as a backup to other clerk of court staff. 17.
Perform other duties as may be required or assigned. 18. Regular
attendance and punctuality is required. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: One to three years experience in the legal field,
knowledge of legal terminology and understanding of court procedures,
computer word processing experience, clerical and accounting skills.
