Substance Use Milieu Specialist - Part Time - Day Shift & Second Shift

Responsibilities and Requirements
Primary Function
-The Substance Use Milieu Specialist is the designation given to individuals who provide direct care to substance abuse patients in all phases of their inpatient stay
-This position provides the patient with an initial orientation session, supports the Substance Use Counselor with discharges and provides educational group activities and milieu management on their assigned shift
-The Substance Use Milieu Specialist works as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, applying his/her knowledge to assist the patient/ family to increase their coping skills throughout the patients hospital stay and prepare them for discharge
-The Substance Use Milieu Specialist will assist the Substance Use Counselor with insurance authorization/ discharges
-The Substance Use Milieu Specialist professionally within the Customer Service Standards defined by Berkshire Medical Center

Position Qualifications
Experience
-A minimum of two years? experience in Substance Abuse Field is preferred.

Education and Training
-A minimum of two years' experience working in a human service field preferred.

License, Certification & Registration
-None required
