About the Opportunity
Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Senior Mechanical Engineer who would like to get involved in design from concept to completion, with an aptitude for problem solving and in developing less experienced mechanical discipline engineers and designers. The role will likely involve the management and leadership of a small group of engineers to deliver required technical outputs to meet business need.
- Oversight of the production of engineering drawings to BS8888. Act as principal drawing and design checker/approver as required in line with internal design drawing process
- Development of technical specifications to meet program and customer needs
- Assist the development of the engineering elements of the project/task baseline scope, schedule and budget for multi-discipline delivery
- Support development of team members and progression of engineering competency within the section, including development of career plans, annual objective setting and identification of training needs
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Educated to degree level in mechanical engineering
- Professionally accredited to IEng/CEng or working towards this level of professional registration
- Proficient in detailed drawing production & checking to relevant drawing standards BS8888, BS5070 and BS EN 61082
- Experience of using relevant software packages (Inventor/SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Vault packages)
