Yukon Equipment specializes in sales of new and used construction equipment, repairs, rentals, parts, and service. Find everything you need for backhoes, excavators, skid steers, wheel loaders, bulldozers, equipment trailers, forklifts, and tractors.
What can you expect?
As the Sales and Rental Manager, you will work with clients and dealers to identify future needs based on market conditions and market potential. You will act as the liaison between the President and the department to facilitate and implement revenue goals, profit margin and inventory management. You will further act as the liaison between the department and parts and service departments to optimize management of inventory fleet of equipment.
Key responsibilities for the Sales and Rental Manager are supervision and management of the departments. That includes review and implementation of pricing and structure of transactions generated with customers of the department. The management of the inventory includes optimizing rental utilization and return on assets. Direction of the department with attention to documentation of rental, rent-to-own and sales contracts. Management of inventory levels between branches and provide input to President and Operations Manager for additions to the fleet. Advise on courses of action to dispose of nonproducing products and ways to market equipment for potential sales. Work with the President and Operations Manager on sales to public entities and retail customers who want to order new from the factory.
How will you do it?
- Build and maintain qualified prospects through telephone prospecting, cold calling, email, and direct marketing.
- Identify potential buyers of equipment and services not currently being contacted by TSM’s.
- Market equipment to buyers who are located outside of territories currently assigned to TSM’s.
- Source non-traditional options for equipment selling such as non-U.S. buyers, wholesale brokers, auction houses, consignments with outside dealers and other prospects.
- Cover ongoing sales process for TSM activity and rental as necessary due to travel, vacations, and workload.
- Use outside contacts to help the sales process when locating equipment is necessary.
- Follow company standards and formats in presentations, proposals, and in professionalism.
- Work with interdepartmental team members to ensure customer paperwork is accurate and complete ensuring a seamless customer sales or rental experience.
- Attend all required training and sales functions.
- Prepare and timeline action plans to identify specific targets and sales potential.
- Assist in preparing sales presentations and proposals.
- Assist in developing and maintaining sales materials that reflect company products accordingly.
- Develop and maintain high operational proficiency through strong technical and product knowledge.
- Maintain a strong understanding of competitors’ products, services, features, and performance characteristics to better position the company as an industry leader.
- Prepare a variety of status reports including sales activity, closes, client follow-up, and progress towards annual sales goals.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company personnel.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other departments.
- Plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will supervise the Sales and Rental Coordinator.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Basic understanding of sales and marketing skills.
- General knowledge of industry’ best practices and procedures.
- Basic understanding of drafting sales agreements and how to accurately determine profit margins.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills with the ability to apply information to company products.
- Demonstrated strong project management and organization skills.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Ability to deliver services within department budget.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to deal effectively with a variety of interpersonal relationships and situations. Specifically, the ability to communicate with customers, and potential customers to ascertain business needs to sell company product(s).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the company. Ability to learn new applications.
- Ability to learn and understand the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to actively listen and provide high quality customer service.
- Ability to do basic math: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and find percentages.
- Ability to do business ethically with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Ability to be detail oriented; superior organizational, follow-up, and records maintenance skills.
- Ability to exercise resourcefulness in assisting customers.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.
Who Is Yukon Equipment looking for?
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years’ proven experience in sales; construction, heavy equipment, automotive, or related industry preferred.
- Proven experience learning and explaining technical product aspects.
- Valid state driver’s license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Yukon Equipment’s Driving Policy.
