Job Overview

In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine's faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day. The Department of Radiology is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff.

Our rapidly growing team is seeking a full-time, office-based Research Assistant to join our growing team in the Department of Radiology. This position will coordinate various research studies learning and utilizing Python programming, MySQL database management, and REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) software. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in medical imaging and radiology.

Essential Functions


Assist in the development and testing of trial/study imaging informatics pipelines.
Support development of custom scripts and tools for specific research needs.
Maintain MySQL databases ensuring data integrity and security.
Use REDCap projects to capture and manage research data according to study requirements.
Develop REDCap reporting functionalities to facilitate data analysis and dissemination.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and execute research studies.
Assist study/trial team with various research related tasks and in preparation of the data for DSMB, manuscripts for publication and/or presentation at national meetings.

Minimum Requirements


B.S. Degree in physics, engineering or other relevant fields.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirements.

Additional Qualifications Considered


Experience in managing large data sets, analyzing statistical techniques and software, and reporting data in a meaningful format.
1 - 2 years working experience in a medical, academic or radiology or neurology environment.
Knowledge of Python programming; MySQL database management, and experience with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy.
Familiarity with REDCap is highly desirable.
Prior experience in radiology research or healthcare informatics
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong focus on flexibility, ability to multi-task, and attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively with staff, physicians, nurses, managers, trial sponsors and colleagues.
Ability to communicate effectively when reading and writing e-mail, letters, Manual of Operations, and other reports or company documents.
