Job Summary:
The Senior Applications Engineer is a customer-facing position with a blend of new product design engineering and business development responsibilities. Projects are often generated by unique customer requirements and necessitate an extensive amount of direct customer interaction. The person in this role will work to gain a deep understanding of customer-specific needs related to performance, reliability, availability, and cost as well as develop solutions to enable customer success.
Essential Responsibilities:
Accelerate growth at CPC by winning new business through technical expertise and/or new custom solutions.
Partner directly with customers to gain and in-depth understanding of their application needs and match those needs with a strong understanding of CPC's capabilities to deliver the optimal solution.
Translate customer requirements into clearly defined product specifications.
Conceptualize product design and proposals and manage customer expectations from initiation to product delivery.
Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and manufacturability.
Develop costing and pricing for complex projects by leveraging value pricing strategies.
Partner with the sales team to develop and deliver winning proposals, focusing on the technical merits of proposed solutions and effective value propositions.
Collaborate with customers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with expectations and address concerns proactively.
Serve as a technical resource for internal and external stakeholders, effectively presenting CPC's expertise, capabilities, and product portfolio.
Conduct product demonstrations and trainings for customers, sales channel partners, and the general public, fostering a deep understanding of CPC's offerings.
Lead cross-functional teams to drive activity aligned with customer needs.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or electrical preferred).
Minimum 7+ years of experience in product related engineering.
Minimum 5+ of customer-facing experience.
Minimum of 5+ of experience with Creo, Pro/E, or similar CAD software.
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Engineering discipline or MBA.
Design experience in injection molded, machined, and stamped components.
Design experience in design of liquid cooling or thermal management.
Proficiency in FEA and/or CFD modeling.
Familiarity with ISO13485.
