Minnesota Energy Resources delivers natural gas to customers in 179 communities across Minnesota.
MER, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking aCustomer Service Associate in ourRochester, Minnesota location.

Job Summary

A Customer Service Associate provides efficient customer service by handling customer requests for new services, maintaining operations communications, processing work requests and maintaining records. Performs a variety of customer accounting activities. Investigates and responds to customer inquiries regarding account or service issues. Provides general administrative duties in the efficient and safe operations of the office. Effectively utilizes specialized computer systems (CIS) and WMIS. Performs construction service design work and general clerical duties as assigned, such as, data entry, filing, maintaining records. Lastly, where applicable, supports Service Choice business as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Handle customer requests:
Communicate technical information to customers, contractors and crews for new services.
Calculate billing adjustments.
Support field personnel.
Process work requests:
Process paperwork, process billings.
Obtain additional information and forward to appropriate parties.
Communicate with various parties in job planning.
Effectively utilize specialized computer applications dealing with customer billing:
Prepare correspondence as required.
Perform credit and collection work balancing customer satisfaction with Company policy.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
3+ years experience with customer service, billing and spreadsheet creation for monitoring processes.
