Winchester Hospital, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, has a new exciting opening within our hospital family. As a member of our Inpatient Services Team, this Resource Nurse position acts as a role model to staff members by supporting the delivery of exceptional personalized care while effectively managing team work concepts within our Magnet-designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 229-bed hospital.
The Resource Nurse Responsibilities:
- Serves as an expert clinical resource to staff members in all areas within Winchester Hospital. This resource nurse assumes a variety of roles including: clinical/technical competence, consultant, communicator, collaborator/advisor/mentor, and educator/facilitator.
- Duties shall include continuous rounding throughout the hospital and collaborating with manager or supervisor during the shift.
- Responds to codes, rapid response calls, emergency patient transport needs, and assists with IV access, medication administration, documentation, and other duties under the direction of the nursing supervisor on assigned shift. Identification of learning opportunities related to these tasks for the enhanced development of staff.
- Provide consultation at the bedside in all areas in order to optimize patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates and fosters a commitment to hospital, performance improvement initiatives, goals and directives. Supports department leaders in efforts to implement change and improve patient outcomes. Adheres to quality and safety guidelines and communicates performance and safety concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing Preferred: Master’s Degree
Experience: Preferred: Previous experience in critical care nursing
License(s)/Certification(s): Required: Massachusetts Registered Nurse License and BLS.
Advanced Cardiac Life (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months
