POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Deputy Clerk FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Hours: 40 Hours per Week Civil Service Status: Unclassified
Lunch: 30 Minutes Employment Status: Full-Time
Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour Probationary Period: Six Months

Nature of Work in this Class
The primary purpose of a Deputy Clerk is to accurately maintain, docket and journalize the filings of the Court, assign costs, receive and distribute monies, execute Orders of the Court, issue and maintain automobile, watercraft and mobile home titles, administer daily bank deposits, accurately maintain reports, and perform any other such duties of the Clerk as defined in the Ohio Revised Code.

Any combination of education, training, and work experience which indicates possession of the minimum requirements for the position as contained herein.
Licensure and Certification Requirements
None, except as may be required by government standards for employment accreditations.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Business office/Courtroom setting with moderate noise. An employee in this position may frequently deal with unpleasant or discourteous individuals as well as unpleasant and confidential material. Work involves extended periods of movement and/or remaining in a stationary position.
Essential Functions
- Accurately file, docket, maintain, and preserve the filings of the Court.
- Accordingly execute the orders of the Court.
- Issue and maintain automobile, watercraft and mobile home titles.
- Receive and collect monies owed to the Court or other parties of interest.
- Issue cost bills to the appropriate agencies or parties.
- Accurately disburse monies to the appropriate agencies or other parties of interest.
- Responsible for accurate daily banking deposits.
- Accurately administer and maintain reports.
- Take charge of juries (both petit and grand).
- Appropriately administer the processing of United States Passports.
- Provide applicable information to the public as requested.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive material.
- Answer telephones and prioritize calls.
- Maintain professional, courteous, and effective communication with employees, officers of the court, other agencies, and the public.
- Sign for delivered packages for office personnel.
- Administer daily mailings.
- Maintain a list of inventory.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by direct or indirect supervisors (ex, Judges).
