Job Summary | The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a Physician Assistant to function as a member of the pediatric infectious diseases team. The team currently consists of 10 physicians, 2 to 3 fellows, 2 advanced practice providers, 1 registered nurse; 2 medical assistants are assigned to the division from the department. This position will be responsible for delivering professional care to pediatric infectious diseases patients. This position will include patient care in the inpatient (consultations), outpatient (Pediatric Infectious Diseases clinic) and telehealth visits and consultations. The distribution of these responsibilities is negotiable. As part of the patient care team, this position is responsible for providing optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient’s family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers. Maintaining and continually updating knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care for patients with infectious diseases is required and will be facilitated within the Division. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient’s status and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures manual. |
