Job Description

 
Anticipated period of employment: 03/01/2025 to 11/15/2025 Manually plant, cultivate, harvest vegetables and field crops (soy, cabbage, carrots, greens, herbs, lettuce, potatoes, squash, and tomatoes). Use hand tools. Duties include tilling soil, applying fertilizer, transplanting, seeding, weeding, thinning, pruning, applying pesticides, cleaning, packing, picking, and loading produce. Construct trellis and fences, repair farm buildings, participate in irrigation practices, set up irrigation equipment. Operate tractors, tractor drawn machinery, self-propelled machinery. Maintain farm equipment. Inform farmers of crop progress. Identify pests, plants, and weeds. Record information about crops. Assist with crop deliveries. Handle pesticides. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 3 months of experience required. Must be able to work in cold, wet, hot, and humid weather, and be able to work on their feet in bent, stooped, and crouched positions for long periods of time. Random drug testing may be required after hire at employer expense for both foreign and domestic workers. Only workers meeting all qualifications on the job order should be referred by the Job Service Office.
