ACCOUNTING SUMMER INTERN - MINNESOTA REMOTE
RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is looking for an Accounting Summer Intern to join our team. This role may be performed remotely, but we will infrequently request attendance for training and in-person group events. Therefore, we would like candidates that live in and around the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. Our intern program is specifically designed to initiate offers of employment upon graduation to associates with great performance reviews. The accounting team at Rayus Radiology is a diverse group of accounting professionals fostering continuous learning, employee appreciation and promoting an inclusive culture.
Accountants at RAYUS Radiology are exposed to many specific areas of accounting including month-end close, fixed assets and depreciation, purchase accounting via acquisitions, preparing analysis for growth initiatives, market budgets and ad-hoc analysis to assist market leaders, and financial reviews with board members. This position is per diem, working schedule will be Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
JOB SUMMARY: Rotational internship with accounting and accounts payable departments as needed. A 'summer only' internship may not get exposure to all facets of duties listed below. Under general supervision, prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts within the general ledger. Support the accounting, accounts payable, treasury, and tax teams in special projects.

POTENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

General Accounting Support
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries to the general ledger
Perform timely and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Investigate variances and assist in preparation of financial statements
Load fixed assets into depreciation software and prepare schedules for capitalization requests and disposals
Audit fixed asset disposals
Participate in annual budget process
Participate in payroll entries for the purpose of expanding excel skills
Assist treasury department with equipment leasing
Observe board member financial review calls
Observe operational financial review calls

Accounts Payable Support
Enter invoices into the payables system, Coupa, for approval and payment
Assign general ledger coding to invoices and check requests
Contact vendors to pay invoices via credit card
Contact new vendors for W-9's and business agreements, if applicable
Assist with reconciling purchasing card statements
Assist with month-end close process


Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned

Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred:
3 years undergraduate work completed
