The Appalachian State University Libraries consist of the Carol Grotnes Belk Library and Information Commons, the Nicholas Erneston Music Library, and the new Hickory Campus Library and Information Commons. Employing over 80 faculty and staff, the Libraries are an essential campus teaching and research partner inspiring and guiding all who pursue knowledge. Position Summary Information

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in library science
- Ability to conduct reference interviews and database searches
- Familiarity with Canva, Google Workspace, and basic video recording techniques
Essential Job Functions
  1. Gain familiarity with the Instructional Materials Center (IMC) collection and how it is used to support the teacher preparation program at Appalachian State University
  2. Participate in the IMC’s instruction program by providing curriculum-integrated instruction for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate Education courses
  3. Work collaboratively with Instructional Materials Center librarians and the E-Resources librarian to create e-learning modules
  4. Assist with IMC collection development and management
  5. Participate in planning and hosting the Appalachian Children’s Literature Symposium and other professional development programs for students and educators
  6. Provide one-on-one and group research assistance to students through chat and the research advisory program (RAPS)
  7. Work as a liaison to the education programs offered by the University
  8. Participate in IMC team meetings
  9. Attend professional development sessions as appropriate
  10. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job
