This opportunity is a position that will provide contract management services in support of the System Stabilization capital program for BNSF. It entails being responsible for managing all workflow for the System Stabilization capital program. The System Stabilization capital program is for the entire BNSF railroad system and a program that requires addressing railroad issues including but not limited to; subgrade instability, track bearing issues, loss of track subgrade support, settlement, soil slope instability, and rock slope instability.
This position will be responsible for managing the System Stabilization capital program. It will involve working with BNSF stakeholders and using specific tools to identify projects, prioritizing projections, managing consultants, permitting and construction phases, managing contractors, coordinating track protection, communicating safety expectations, and keeping track of costs. This job requires extensive travel.
What You'll Do:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Supports the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Supports engineering teams with various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
What You'll Bring:
Exhibits an understanding of aspects of how a project gets completed.
Manages projects and various project teams from start to finish.
Extensive travel to various locations throughout the year.
Coordinates with various project teams to get projects completed.
Very good communication skills.
Organization and coordination skills.
What We Prefer:
Master's degree in Engineering
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
