Helping Okaloosa Residents BCI has become a vital part of our community by providing several crucial human services programs for Okaloosa County.

BCI continues to develop an increasingly diverse array of crucial and premium services for individuals and communities in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.

Advocacy

Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) is a vital community based behavioral healthcare organization (CBHO) that employs over 188 professionals. We work and reside in Okaloosa communities and purchase local goods and services. We train the next generation of psychological healthcare professionals. BCI has trained an average of five (5) interns per year for the last 20 years from the following colleges and universities: Capella University, Florida State University, Fortis Institute, Northwest Florida State College, NOVA, Richmond Graduate University, Troy University, University of Maryland, University of New England, University of South Alabama, and the University of West Florida. Last year BCI  trained seven (7) interns. BCI generates $28 million in total economic impact each year in Okaloosa businesses. In 2012 we provided over 200,000 client contact visits. Together with the Florida Council for Community Mental Health, we provided a unified voice for consumers of psychological healthcare. We advocate on behalf of our consumers to have access for both psychiatric illnesses/diseases and substance abuse addiction illnesses/ diseases at an affordable level for consumers and providers.

We work to keep policy makers informed on critical policy issues that impact Okaloosa communities as well as state-wide Florida communities.


Bridgeway's Success

Our success is based on the concept of increasing well-being for children, adult and family success. BCI works with various organizations to create innovative programs to address critical human services needs of Okaloosa Communities. We also address limitations to care, including behavioral, environmental conditions, economic, physical, cultural and linguistic needs, for individuals who have difficulty finding support services to maintain self-sufficiency for life's independence.

BCI's focus on Healthy Minds for a Better Life is about identifying and coordinating preventive and early intervention educational services and behavioral and therapeutic life skill services. Bridgeway is making a healthy lifestyle easier to achieve.
