Job Summary

This position provides design, installation and maintenance of electrical-electronic related apparatuses, buildings, machinery and commercial equipment at MCF-Moose Lake. This position is an electrician that requires electronics and computer knowledge higher than basic skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Provide technical support of building, security, and communications systems including related software applications, so that building systems‘ networks, data functions and electronics operate correctly, efficiently and in compliance with the established policy and regulations.

-Design, install and repair electrical distribution as determined by the work request system Archibus, so that the facility‘s electrical is maintained in accordance with the National Electrical Code. Troubleshoot the fire alarm system so that the equipment operates with maximum efficiency. Maintain the operation of two 1250KW emergency generators to ensure backup power is available if needed.

-Provide training on proper safety practices and installation procedures, including repairs and preventive maintenance requirements. Inform the Electronic Systems Supervisor of any new technology or procedures to upgrade electronics or electrical systems with most current technologies. Maintain an accurate inventory of electronic and electrical equipment to maintain security and reliability of MCF-Moose Lake electronics and electrical systems.

-Maintain security of all tools, equipment and supplies so that the security of the facility is not compromised.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. You must be registered with the Department of Labor and Industry as a Class A Journey or Master Electrician;

AND

You must have either A or B below:

A) Vocational/technical degree in Electronics (Note: The degree program must include the following courses: Electronic Control Theory and Electronic Control Applications);

OR

B) Electronics experience with primary responsibility for the installation, operation, programming and maintenance of commercial security, environmental and fire alarm control systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

+Electronics experience with primary responsibility for the installation, operation, programming and maintenance of commercial security, environmental and fire alarm control systems.

+Experience working in a correctional or secured environment.

Physical Requirements

The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required prior to hire for this position. These components consist of a physical examination, a drug test and/or tuberculosis screening.
