Advertising/Posting Title Equipment Mechanic Senior

Posting Summary
Coordinate the collection and tabulation of all data required for the University’s facilities and utilities permits for fuel consumption of underground and aboveground tanks in order to be in compliance with all applicable Federal and State codes/regulations. Monitor emergency generators fuel usage and equipment running hours and maintain related records. Assign and schedule outside contractors for major repairs and inspections on equipment. Work closely with other UVM and State affiliates regarding permit issues. Access information utilizing computers. Promote a work place that encourages safety within the Shop and field. Operate a University vehicle to transport tools and equipment. This position reports to a supervisor and requires active engagement in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High School Diploma and three years of experience to include equipment preventative maintenance and record keeping required. Level A Operator in the UST Program or ability to obtain within 4 months. Thorough knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations and basic computer skills required. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and driver’s check required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing specific job tasks. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $22 to $24/hour

Special Conditions Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 40 hour work week
