About The Opportunity:

We have a tremendous opportunity in front of us to build upon our strengths and develop an interdisciplinary planning, design and delivery practice that is uniquely Jacobs, that sets the direction for the industry and is home to the very best and brightest design thinkers, disruptors, technical experts, visionaries and storytellers.

 

Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, surveyors, designers, place-makers, project managers and transport planners to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for our clients, both domestically and internationally.

 

Due to our expanding portfolio and long-term local framework expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer with Building Services experience to join our Birmingham based multi-disciplinary team. We are seeking someone who is looking to further develop their experience and responsibilities within the Building Services sector.

 

The team is involved in a variety of planned and reactive maintenance, refurbishment and new build projects including several multi-million-pound development schemes and framework agreements within the construction industry. The roles do require Design based work within Building Services

 

• Work with and assist both Mechanical & Electrical Engineers together with other members of a multidiscipline design team
• Liaise with clients and other design disciplines
• Produce specifications, design drawings, survey work under the supervision of a more Senior Engineers
• Write technical reports and produce detailed calculations

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Appropriate level education in a relevant discipline with working knowledge and experience of UK regulations
• Experience of working within Building Services engineering design consultancy practice
• Working knowledge of AutoCad, Revit MEP awareness and willingness to develop to BIM standards
• An appreciation of quality assurance and business management
• Good verbal and communication skills – able to work effectively with colleagues and with a professional approach to external clients
• An enquiring approach with a desire to explore innovative ideas whilst still understanding the need for a good commercial balance
