Compensation: $67,724.80 - $90,700/ year (Skookum's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm (flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs. Hybrid schedule possible with 3 days in office, and 2 days working remotely, dependent on business needs. Must be within a commutable distance of our Home Office in Bremerton, WA.)
Travel: Out of state travel required approximately eight times a year to various locations, over the United States. As well as local Washington travel.
As a Vocational Support Supervisor, you'll... The Vocational Specialist Supervisor position serves as a subject matter lead within a cross functional team, supporting a caseload of approximately 25 employees with significant disabilities and supervising the Vocational Specialists with the Cross Functional Team (CFT). This position works directly with employees, supervisors, site leadership, and the Regional Vice President (RVP) to ensure employees with disabilities receive support and accommodations. Requires a combination of employee-focused activities and preparation and updating of required disability documentation, requiring professional-level writing and editing. This position is part of the Vocational leadership team and meets regularly with the Vice President of Workforce Development, Vocational Manager, and Vocational Compliance Coordinator.
Promote the Skookum mission and educate supervisors, managers, and employees on disability awareness and the requirements of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) through site and companywide trainings
Work as a member of a diverse Cross Functional Team consisting of professionals dedicated to servicing a large and diverse number of Skookum sites.
Develop collaborative relationships with Skookum site management and supervisors to support all Skookum employees of all abilities
Assist Vocational Manager with Vocational Specialist oversight by supervising team of Vocational Specialists to include on-boarding, tracking quarterly trainings, maintaining compliance, monitoring caseloads and work tasks
Support the RVP, recruiters, HR Partners and site managers in maintaining the AbilityOne disability ratio
Provide oversight for Vocational Specialists on all American with Disabilities requests, paperwork, and processes to send to Vocational Manager
Manage a caseload of approximately 25 Skookum employees both direct and indirect with a wide variety of disabilities; ensure that these employees are being provided appropriate accommodations to allow them to perform their work successfully
Maintain required documentation for each of these employees, including IEEs, case notes, Job Support Plans, and summaries
Review and assess disability documentation for applicants and current employees to ensure they qualify under the AbilityOne program
Oversee and respond to accommodation requests and employee relations in a timely manner
Assist with crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and safety planning to support employees who are struggling or in crises
Assist employees with FMLA paperwork, benefits enrollment and accessing their information within the Workday HRIS system
Administrative support duties including obtaining new disability documents, preparing for internal audit reviews, and participating in the report proofing process
Assist HR/Recruiting with hiring, including creating job descriptions and interviewing
Assist occasionally with New Hire Orientation
Assist with the vocational portion of new start up sites: sourcing and assessing disability documentation, providing appropriate accommodations, training, coaching new supervisors on disability related issues
Evaluating job performance of direct reports, offering corrective action and training as necessary. Provide training of Vocational Specialists on disability related issues, and as needed
Facilitate the placement of innovative placement positions. Establish relationships with local DDA employment vendors to find innovative placement job applicants. Collaborate with Job Coaches from external agencies
Perform check-ins with all employees on caseload during their first 30/60/90 days of employment and minimum of twice annually thereafter
Act as advocate and consultant when Human Resources and other related matters arise for employees
Support and occasionally attend recruiting functions to assist the cross-functional team members in networking with local employment vendors
Gather, promote, and coordinate Veteran resources to ensure Skookum employees are supported
Facilitate training and presentations to employees and leadership around disability related issues including accommodations
Meet monthly with site leadership to ensure all employee accommodations are being reviewed
Travel required to in and out of state sites

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Skookum Vocational Specialist Supervisor
3 - 5 years of previous experience in related field, required.
Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, Education, Kinesiology or related field, required. Master's Degree, preferred.
Previous supervisory experience, required
A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
