Wenger Corporation is seeking a Metal Machine Operator responsible to set up and operate metal fabrication equipment while working under limited supervision within assigned areas in a manner, which meets or exceeds established quality and quantity standards.
This job might be for you if you have:
Six (6) months experience operating metal forming equipment
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
Experience with tape measures, calipers, and other measuring instruments
Reading text and documents, numeracy, writing and oral communications within team environment
Problem solving, critical thinking, planning, prioritizing and organizing
Ability to operate hand tools
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Light to moderate lifting
Highly qualified candidates may also possess:
Vocational/technical school training
As a Metal Machine Operator, a typical day might include:
Set up, adjustment, and operation of a variety of metal fabrication equipment including, but not limited to press brake, punch presses, tube benders, saws, and wire forming machines
Following engineering drawings and blueprints to perform the work
Achievement of high standards regarding quality of parts
Determining the materials required and following the sequence of tasks outlined on production orders
Ability to complete a thorough inspection of parts
Maintaining equipment, as well as an to be clean and safe work environment
