The Sensing and Connectivity team creates and seamlessly integrates technologies that enrich people’s lives and deliver the best user experience. We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer passionate about building tools to streamline our privacy tooling and the Continuous Integration pipeline. We're a friendly team of problem solvers, debuggers, and engineers. This is an opportunity to work in an extremely talented team with the engineers and scientists who deliver technologies underpinning Location Services, Privacy and App Access Controls, and many more. In this position, you'll be a key contributor working on projects which support multiple teams across Software during all stages of development. You will be working with engineers to automate, scale, and innovate on our unique development and privacy tools and the integration process to maintain peak productivity, to ultimately help build the best privacy controls experience for our customers. This is a unique opportunity to work with engineering teams to profoundly impact the quality and efficiency of software delivery.

Description

You will be contributing to our bespoke continuous integration automation system, uniquely tailored for the team's high-level and low-level system needs. Responsibilities for this role include: Produce unified solutions that scale and apply to many development teams. Develop daemons backing our APIs on multiple Apple platforms Designing and building features used by millions of users, that can be used within the technical constraints of small, low-power devices. Participating in and influencing architecture and code reviews Automate verification of source and build quality before integration Work with cross-functional teams to solicit automation requirements Write automated tools to facilitate and improve CI capabilities Leverage CI functionality to deliver updates to our Privacy Access Controls projects. Triage, prioritise, and react to events requiring configuration changes Build tools to enhance bug tracking and code review integration

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in C or C++ or Objective-C
  • Knowledge of iOS or macOS programming
  • Proficiency with Git version control

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent scripting skills, preferably in Ruby or Python
  • Broad experience in overall system design and implementation
  • Understanding of multi-threaded programming and synchronization
