Under the direction of the Manager, Taxation, the Tax Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of time-sensitive, tax compliance projects and other tax matters.Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
1. Assist with the preparation and filing of system-wide returns including Form 990, Form 990-T, Massachusetts Form PC, Massachusetts Form M-990T, and other foreign, state, and local reporting and required estimates and extensions.
2. Assist with the preparation and filing of system-wide returns including Forms 3ABC and/or other property tax filings.
3. Provide support related to a wide variety of tax matters that arise both system-wide and at the parent and affiliate levels throughout the year (e.g., Unrelated Business Income, Tax Exempt Bonds, Compensation questions, etc.).
4. Ability to analyze, research and interpret tax issues, document and communicate findings.
5. Must be self-motivated, capable of taking initiative, successfully handling and prioritizing multiple competing priorities, and effectively managing deadlines.
6. Work effectively both individually and in a team environment (virtually and in-person) and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: BS/BA in Accounting or Finance preferred
Licensure, Certification & Registration: CPA preferred
Experience: 1-2 years of work experience required; experience with Form 990 and nonprofit preferred
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

1 Tax Department Work in collaboration with the tax department in the preparation of tax returns and resolving various tax issues, as applicable
2 Other Network Staff & Management Work in collaboration with others across BILH disciplines as needed
Physical Requirements & Environment:
Close work (paperwork, visual examination), Color vision/perception, Visual monotony, Visual clarity <3 feet, Conversation, Monitoring Equipment, Telephone. Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally This job requires constant sitting, Keyboard use, frequent Power Grasping using one hand, Fine Manipulation using one hand.
