Job Summary
CenterPoint Energy is looking for a LCL 340 Construction & Maintenance Mechanic Operator to join our Team, located in Minneapolis, MN.
You will have the ability to install, protect, and maintain gas services and mains. Operate and maintains several types of construction equipment to accomplish installation, maintenance and protection of the gas distribution system.
Essential Functions
Performvarious tasks associated with installation of gas mains and services to prepare and restore the construction site including maintenance, replacement, corrosion control and leak detection on mains and services in compliance with company standards and procedures, to safely and efficiently deliver natural gas to customers.
Operate construction equipment used in the repair, replacement, and installation of gas mains and services, including the preparation and restoration of the construction site for completion of assigned projects.
Performroutine operator maintenance on construction equipment to assure safe and efficient performance and minimal downtime.
Drivecrew truck and other trucks, some with trailer attachedto transport construction equipment and necessary crew materials to job locations.
Assist with other related tasks as apparent or assigned including meter hanging and customer piping tie-in when appropriate to ensure efficient operation of the crew.
Education Description
Requires successful completion of a certification program at an accredited educational institution in natural/propane gas distribution, installation and repair. In lieu of a degree, will consider related experience providing equivalent technical skills.
Experience
Experience in one or more of the following:
one year's experience in the installation and or repair of gas services and mains.
3 years'operating experience of various excavation equipment e.g., trencher, tractor, backhoe.
