The Position
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, accompany choirs, soloists and small ensembles for rehearsals and concerts; may assist instructor by conducting choral rehearsals in the absence of the instructor.

Major Responsibilities
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Accompany choirs, soloists and small ensembles for rehearsals and concerts.
Rehearse with vocal students for solos performed in voice classes and recitals.
Lead section rehearsals by playing parts.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge:
Advanced piano skills.
Advanced music theory and composition.
Vocal techniques.
Sight reading, conducting and coaching methods.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.

Skills and Abilities:
Play the piano at the advanced level.
Sight read complex musical scores.
Accompany choirs, soloists and small ensembles.
Assist students in learning vocal music interpretations and technical aspects of music.

Training and Abilities:
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by private or college-level training in piano, music theory and composition and at least one year experience as an accompanist.

SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT:
Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);
Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the district’s expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment); AND
Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
