About the Job



Responsibilities
Application Deployment (40%)
Serve as subject matter expert for Configuration Manager application deployment
Provide training assistance to CSE-IT staff in Configuration Manager application deployment
Execute Configuration Manager application deployments
Provide oversight and assistance in ensuring all deployments reach 90% compliance
Provide oversight and assistance with Client Configuration Manager (CCM) health
Align documentation to comply with Software Support & License Management needs
Active Directory (20%)
Serve as subject matter expert for Active Directory
Provide training assistance to CSE-IT staff in Active Directory
Advise, design, and execute changes and improvements to CSE-IT Active Directory space
Responsible for Organizational Unit management
Responsible for CSE-IT Active Directory account management
Serve as liaison to OIT regarding AD account management
Design and implement account management policies as needed for CSE instructional labs
Group Policy (15%)
Serve as subject matter expert for Group Policy
Provide training assistance to CSE-IT staff in Group Policy
Responsible for CSE-IT Group Policy management
Document Group Policy Objects as needed for ITSC
Software acquisition and inventory management (10%)
Responsible for software acquisition and software inventory management under direction of Software Support & License Management service.
Align software inventory documentation to comply with Software Support & License Management needs.
Advanced Windows Desktop Support (10%)
Act as an escalation point for more complex windows issues for Service Desk and IT Service Coordinators
Storage (5%)
Storage support liaison for all issues related to storage for ITSC
Develop and execute storage curation for files.umn.edu
Maintain documentation on all CSE-IT files.umn.edu shares
Provide support for all issues related to ACLs and mount points for CSE-IT files.umn.edu shares
Provide oversight of CSE-IT files.umn.edu usage
Develop and execute CSE Labs storage policies

Qualifications



Required Qualifications
A BA/BS degree in a field related to system administration or a combination of related education and work experience in the areas of system administration to equal four years
Experience providing Tier 2-level technical support
Demonstrated experience managing both technical problems and interpersonal customer service issues in a demanding work environment

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the following technologies highly desirable
Configuration Manager
Active Directory
Group Policy
Storage
Powershell scripting
Experience with database hosting
