Division Information
Kenworth Truck Company is the manufacturer of The World's Best heavy and medium duty trucks. Kenworth is an industry leader in providing fuel-saving technology solutions that help increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. The company's dedication to the green fleet includes aerodynamic trucks, compressed and liquefied natural gas trucks, and medium duty diesel-electric hybrids.
Here's what you will do in this role:
Support design and release of electrical wiring and electronic components and systems for heavy commercial truck.
Integrate various electrical subsystems into vehicle electrical system.
Complete engineering change notice documentation to manage old and new parts and use proprietary software to issue part bid requests.
Familiarity withSiemens Capital to design integrate and design wire harnesses and schematics
Support engineering and project management processes to maintain schedule, budget, and functionality. Assist planningand track validation of components.
Support launch at truck assembly plants as needed, and resolve field issues as identified.
Help ensure industry leading quality and reliability is met/maintained/exceeded on all components.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers and other professionals to ensure quality heavy duty truck electrical designs.
Support investigation and resolve warranty issues for powertrain electrical related claims.
Up to 10% travel.
Role Requirements:
BSEE or equivalent degree required; MS in appropriate technical field (CS or EE preferred) and/or Professional Engineering license.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good planning/tracking skills.
Competency with standard business software tools (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
Able to learn and use new processes and techniques and resourcefully solve complex technical issues.
Commitment to reliability, value, and quality in all aspects of work; desire to join the World's Best team.
Willingness to grow continuously, both personally and professionally and a strong results orientation.
0-1 years knowledge of design & release of automotive or commercial vehicle electrical components, including software, wire harnesses, electronic controls, switches, driver input devices, and/or HMI preferred.
Familiarity using Engineering tools (Siemens Capital, Creo, Windchill).
Awareness of heavy duty commercial truck regulations, especially affecting instrumentation, emissions, safety, On Board Diagnostics, and other areas that impact electrical and electronic design, architecture, and functionality.

Additional Job Board Information
At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for an Electrical Design Engineer is $72,200-$108,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
