Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, the Assistant Director of Student & Employer Engagement plays a key leadership role in the Center for Career & Talent Development centralized enterprise to implement and deliver “Career & Life Ready” programs and services for students while simultaneously cultivating meaningful partnerships with employers. The Assistant Director of Student & Employer Engagement’s responsibilities include:
  • Identify creative strategies to engage underrepresented and first generation students to provide career resources during their first year experience on campus.
  • Manage and lead the integration and promotion of Handshake CRM and other digital vendors to identify career opportunities and internships.
  • Manage and implement events, career fairs and programs, and track student engagement and attendance.
  • Coordinate data collection and reporting for the annual First Destination Survey and disseminate the information to campus stakeholders.
  • Act as team lead to oversee marketing strategies for CCTD, utilizing web, print and social media modalities to promote both student and employer participation in programs that foster exciting internships, full time jobs and graduate school opportunities.
Required Qualifications
● Masters Degree and/or MBA in related discipline is required.
● Possess 3-5 years of experience working in a college and/or university Career Center and/or Early Talent Recruiting program with a company or organization.
● Possess significant experience working with students to increase their engagement with the Center’s diverse array of programs and resources to include employer connections.
● Proven experience in effectively engaging students from marginalized backgrounds including first generation students.
● Strong working knowledge of event planning and management.
● Demonstrated presentation skills and exceptional ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with a variety of people including students, faculty, staff, employers, parents, etc.
● Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make independent decisions exercising sound judgment.
● Demonstrated expertise utilizing such software programs including, but not limited to Salesforce, Handshake CRM, CareerShift CRM and PathwayU
● Highly organized with an attention to detail that results in accuracy in daily work, with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
● Ability to understand emerging hiring trends by maintaining professional connections and changing market conditions.
